A girl on my floor got cut from all of the "top and middle" houses during recruitment mainly due to her lack of connections and the fact that she didn't have any of her recs written from ole miss alumni (so we are all assuming) because her GPA was a 3.8 even though she had a stellar resume. On the other hand, I had a 3.29 and with lots of connections and recs from ole miss and a great resume & got a bid to a "top" house. It really is all about who you know and connect with in the house before rush because GPA is only a number not really a connection.
