@transferring - most girls I've known who left did wait until second semester but there are sometimes a few who pack and leave immediately - which is why Ole Miss changed recruitment to October instead of before school started. As for girls transferring to pledge at another school and then coming back to OM, some chapters require a chapter vote to accept the affiliate. That might sound hard but not every transferring member is a fit, especially if they come from a school where the sorority is a much weaker chapter. Most times, however, I've seen houses accept affiliates, but if someone does this - transfers out of OM, then pledges elsewhere and then transfers back - that might be different. who knows?!
