Not one of the unhoused chapters made quota and I am going to take an unpopular stance. It's NOT THEIR fault. I blame you IU Panhellenic. 1. If IU followed the recruitment procedures the rest of the country does, quota would be based on the actual number of women attending preference, not some arbitrary number. This means that if a ton of girls dropped because they didn't want unhoused chapters, then everyone's quota would be lower, but more equitable for all. 2. Panhel has got to do something about the recruitment schedule. It is too long and drawn out. There is no reason the parties the first and second rounds need to be as long as they were. Make the parties shorter. Thirty minutes first round and forty minutes second round. Third round should be 45 minutes and then would only take one day to finish. The process is so drawn out, no wonder girls drop. They are tired, hungry, sick and just plain over it. Exhaustion causes people to have trouble thinking clearly. 3. Education the Rho Gams better. Girls got such unreliable and varied information that who knew exactly what was going on. 4. Select a recruitment director who actually has a clue. Better yet, pick a junior to be the assistant director, have her learn one year and then be the director the next year all while training the assistant. If girls, parents, chapter members want to point fingers--point it straight at Panhel.
