Yes, the chapters do not expect sophomores to have freshman GPA's on par with the average high school GPA. How difficult is this to understand? If you have a 3.5+ from your freshman year, you have practically nothing to worry about grade-wise. If you had a 3.0-3.49, you're probably OK for most chapters. A few may cut you for grades but since you'll never know the actual reason that any house cuts you, it really doesn't matter. If you had below a 3.0, you will be considered a grade risk at most chapters and will need major in-house connections and a stellar resume (HS & freshman year) to have a chance.
