You sound absolutely ridiculous. Who CARES what your 50 year old mother's friends are saying; if you are centering your life around adhering to their "standards" and unfounded elitism then you need to grow up, and hopefully college will do that for you. Particularly since the order of houses at USC is slowly shifting, being stuck with such a rigid elitist attitude is not only snobby and off-putting, but it is becoming increasingly unreliable as the "Top 4" starts to fall apart and other houses rise (some think Pi Phi and Alpha Phi are equal now, for instance). If you are putting that much pressure on what SORORITY you get into than you REALLY need to set your priorities straight. And if truthfully, your mom and her friends are still so concerned with a petty popularity contest, then they are extremely immature as well. USC is not some southern school where your letters are all there is to you. If your sorority rank is the most important thing going for you, you are truly pitiful.
