Very few people who go through recruitment, and fill out their rank sheets fully, don't get bids. The fact the only 230 bids were given out even though 400 people registered for recruitment is a miss leading number. Many of the people who didn't get bids are girls who decided to drop out or didn't show up at all. The other reason why this number is miss leading is because if girls single intentional preference (or do not fully fill out their forms) they are less likely to receive a bid (or get invited back to the next round). By not completing their forms correctly they limit their options which means they are more likely to get invited to the next round. Although single intentional preferencing is discourage many people who go though recruitment still do this. The number of people who go through recruitment with good intention and fully complete all the forms who get dropped is very small. The number of bids has nothing to do with more "competition", because of higher registration numbers, but rather the number of bids that each chapter is suppose to give out is dependant upon the number of girls who go to preference. If you go through formal recruitment with an open mind and keep all your options open the chances of not getting a bid is very slim.
