So back in the 50s, the best fraternities (according to my grandad) were SAE, Sigma Nu, Phi Delt, KA, and ATO. In the 80s (according to my dad) the best fraternities were KA, SAE, Phi Delt, Fiji, and Sigma Nu. In the early 2000s (according to my step-brother) the best fraternities were KA, Sigma Nu, Fiji, SAE, and Sigma Chi. Today, the best fraternities (according to most AU students) are Theta Chi, KA, Sigma Nu, Fiji, and Beta. So yes, there’s a couple fraternities that have pretty much always been great, but the tiers rise and fall over the decades largely based on who gets kicked off, who has a string of awesome pledge classes and rises to the top, and really generational preference. The same goes with sororities - Pi Phi and Zeta used to suck back in the day, but now have some of the hottest girls in all of Auburn and are considered top by most guys.
