There are plenty of fraternities, so getting a bid somewhere is doable. Top tiers pretty much have their pledge class set by the end of the summer, they hold just a couple of bids for Fall arrivals. So you really have to stand out to get one. But getting into one of the other fraternities (& they are actually all pretty good) shouldn't be too difficult. Don't wait until actual Rush/Recruitment to try and meet as many people as you can. It is really hard to truly get to know guys (& if you fit in) in such a short period of time as formal recruitment - especially if you are trying to check out several houses. You might even decide to rush in the spring (but not all houses offer spring bids). Or you might find a group of friends and decide not to go the fraternity route. It is all good here at Auburn.
