You Missed The Point

"I'm a Guy", I think you missed the point that REALIST was making. It looks like REALIST was in a sorority and enjoyed the experience, but is stating that if you are a woman going through Rush, that it is OK that you decide that you do not have to go through the process. I see the point being made -- NPC calls it Mutual Selection. Judging by the two different words, Mutual and Selection, both parties have to agree to continue moving forward in the process. I know factually that girls will get their lowest selections (14, 15, 16, 17) back on their list. How is this Mutual Selection? The TRUTH is that Greek life is a fit for some but not for all. So stop trying to convince someone that the only option is to give it a chance; that spending $5k - $7k per year is a wise decision when you have clearly decided that there is not a "fit." Just go join one or more of the other hundreds of inclusive clubs that are offered by our beautiful school.
