This is so true. I didn’t realize it until my daughter rushed and I talked to friends who really knew what was going on. The top 4/oldest houses are looking at Fayetteville legacies (they give zero cares if your mom went to a different school) , people who will donate lots of money, connection's etc. So many girls get cut sight unseen and don’t get a chance to even meet the girls in the house . It’s not necessarily even the girls you are talking to at rush . A lot of older members and alumni have their hand in things . It was eye opening to us because my daughter was always popular and things came easy to her, so she was surprised at how hard rush ended up being . She ended up in a house she loved , so this doesn’t come from a place of anger . Just want people to know this goes is what Goes on. I was always the parent who thought everyone was being petty and sensitive when they talked about how cutthroat rush is . Also , I was there in the 90’s and phi mu just wasn’t a popular sorority and couldn’t get members . I don’t know if that’s why they left , but they were nicknamed phi moo by the fraternities.
