Zeta Psi - ΖΨ Fraternity at Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT 5.0 I'm a Zeta Psi elder from another chapter. I found myself across the street from the MIT house after a Dinosaur Jr. concert at the Middle East years ago. I buzzed the door really late and the Brothers welcomed me as if one of their own, even though I was much older. Brought back great memories from my undergrad days at Tufts (we partied really hard back then in the 80's - Zeta Psi was the first fraternity at Tufts (1855), the Rho Alpha Chapter was relatively new at MIT (1979.) But for a newish chapter, the MIT guys were awesome. I used to look forward to attending the annual ALL ZETE party at MIT with other Zetes from all over the east coast. These were the days before a Zete started RIM and invented the Blackberry. The only thing that bothered us was the MIT Zetes allowed their pledges to wear letters (NEVER allowed at my Chapter.) Whenever Zetes from MIT ventured out to Medford, we always tried to be just as welcoming. MIT brethren would be served only the finest vintages, aged in our well stocked wine cellar, from such esteemed estates as Night Train Express, (always served very cold) and Thunderbird. Even a Koch brother would be envious! In my day, we also had at least three kegs on tap at our bar, ready to slake the thirst of any parched Beaver or for games of beer die or poker. (Tufts Zetes were better at beer die and MIT Zetes were better at card counting.) We took a liking to the MIT Zetes so much that once, when one of our own alums brought his son, a Junior at CalTech, to our house during Homecoming, we sent him to ZBT while we partied with his dad. Dad didn't mind, he said his son didn't inherit a strong liver like him. Parents out there, I can attest that the MIT Zetes are awesome. I have a son from my first marriage who was accepted at MIT, but then wanted a different experience, so he went to Deep Springs College. No Greek life there, I can tell you...they don't even allow EtOH...After obtaining his Associate Degree at Deep Springs, he transferred to Stanford, (major disappointment, it was his safety school), but he had fallen in love with the west coast. Zeta Psi used to have a great chapter at Stanford, many prominent alums, but got kicked off campus years ago. My son's mom is biracial. He joined the Omegas. He had learned about branding from his earlier farm experience, so that might have been the attraction. I have a daughter with my second wife who's about to go off to Harvard. Assigned female at birth, she identifies as heterosexual XX who likes college men. I definitely want her to party with the MIT Zetes. If you have doubts about your kid joining a fraternity, MIT will dispel all negative stereotypes of the typical "frat." I go to Zete conventions and can say that MIT's alums are awesome. It's always great to hang with the brass rat wearers. I've met Rho Alpha alums who are Judges, Partners at top law firms, fellow physicians, politicos, top engineers and execs. All Zete - All Great. MIT Zetes will always have the higher GPAs and my chapter the higher BACs (we have the better lacrosse team, though.), We also go on to become very successful. I attribute that less to college and more to the fraternity experience. Recently, I again found myself at the MIT House during my Harvard Medical School reunion weekend. The guys were just as cool and welcoming as ever. Too bad my undergrad school is so hostile to fraternities. MIT does fraternities perfectly and sets the standard of excellence for Greek Life. TKP

Zeta Psi - ΖΨ Fraternity at Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT 1.0 This frat is filled with disrespectful boys who are the most arrogant group of people I’ve met in my life. A bunch of conceited little boys who don’t know how to treat any person with respect or kindness. Would really love for these boys to realize they’re nothing special and not at all superior enough to be acting the way that they do.
